SCOLA Country Overview Videos are native perspective programs addressing the language, culture, geography, politics, and history of different countries. Each video can be viewed with or without subtitles.

Select the Language Training Materials icon on the SCOLA homepage or from the Services drop down menu.

Select the Country Overview Videos icon.

From the main Country Overview Videos page, search for videos using country, language or both and video format (mp2 or mp4).

Search videos by country: select desired country or All from the drop down menu and click "Search".

Search videos by language: select desired language or All from the drop down menu and click "Search".

Search by video format: select desired video format or All from the drop down menu and click "Search".

View a video immediately by clicking the arrow under the "Play/Save" column.

Download a video for later viewing by clicking the disk icon under the "Play/Save" column.

Start a new search by clicking the "Reset" button in the top navigation bar. This will clear out any previously searched information.

SCOLA Language Lessons are produced by SCOLA partners.

Select the Language Training Materials icon on the SCOLA homepage or from the Services drop down menu.

Select the Language Lessons icon.

From the main Language Lessons page, search for lessons using country, language and file format (mp2, mp3, mp4, PDF, Zip or All).

Search lessons by country: select desired country or All from the drop down menu and click "Search" button.

Search lessons by language: select desired language or All from the drop down menu and click "Search" button.

Search by file format: select desired file format or All from the drop down menu and click "Search" button.

View lessons immediately by clicking the arrow under the "Open/Save" column.

Download a lesson for later viewing by clicking the disk icon under the "Play/Save" column.

Start a new search by clicking the "Reset" button in the top navigation bar. This will clear out any previously searched information.

SCOLA STAR Lessons are unique language lessons that are available in ten Critical languages. The lessons are categorized into ILR Level 2, 2+ and 3.

Select the Language Training Materials icon on the SCOLA homepage or from the Services drop down menu.

Select the STAR Lessons icon.

You can search for lessons by language, level or key word. Enter your choices and click the magnifying glass icon.

In your search results, click "Expand All Details" to see a summary of each STAR Lesson. Click "Hide All Details" to hide the summaries.

To view a file, click on the lesson title.

Each Lesson contains a summary, an objective, and a table of content with different activities listed.

Click on the individual titles below the table of content to see the different activities.

You can use the navigation buttons at the top of the page to move from activity to activity. You can also use the black bar at the top of the screen to navigate to a particular activity.

Some activities contain audio or video files. A button with a speaker icon opens an audio file. A button with a film icon opens a video file. You will need to view these files in order to effectively complete the lesson.

Click "Lesson Resources" at the top to view helpful information about the lesson such as a Vocabulary Assessment and a Culture Note.

To return to the STAR Lessons search page, click "Search" at the top right hand corner.
